Building Bright Futures for our Community
Your generous support is pivotal to building bright futures in our community.
We have $550,000 left to raise in our Capital Campaign goal. So far, we’ve secured federal and state funding that has allowed us to purchase and renovate a building in Columbia Heights that is 3X larger than our current size. The last remaining funds in our campaign will support expanded staff, services, and programs to meet the growing need in our community.
Community support is SACA’s strongest asset and your simple gestures are at the heart of all we accomplish. Naming Opportunities, Food Delivery Truck Sponsorships, and our Donor Recognition Wall are tangible ways to let our neighbors and clients know that there is a community of support invested in their bright futures.
All donations to SACA Food Shelf are tax-deductible. We are a tax exempt, nonprofit organization under the provisions of Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3). SACA’s Federal ID Number (EIN) is 41-1272131

Memorials or Honoraria
A gift in memory of a friend or loved one is a wonderful way to memorialize a special person in your life while supporting the community. Be sure to include the complete name(s) of the person(s) being honored or remembered, and the address of those who should be notified
Planned Giving & Legacy Gifts
A giving legacy, laid out in a succession plan, is an effective way to ensure assets in your account continue to reflect the values and passions important to you. Some planned gifts give a certain dollar amount or percentage of their estate.
IRA Charitable Rollover
The IRA Charitable Rollover law allows individuals 70½ or older to give up to $100,000 directly from their IRA to qualified charities without paying federal income tax on the withdrawal. It is advised to discuss the details with a financial advisor before distributing funds to a nonprofit.
Gifts of Stock
Make a bigger impact by donating long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds, and mutual funds, directly to SACA. Compared with donating cash, or selling your appreciated securities and contributing the after-tax proceeds, you may be able to automatically increase your gift and your tax deduction.
